Instead of hanging around in quiet Paris this Easter, my husband and I did something totally out of the ordinary – we left Paris for a weekend in London! Along with our close friend Marine, we carted ourselves over to London via the Eurostar for a long leisurely weekend of treasure hunting.
If you are going to London, I suggest buying this month’s Time Out magazine. It contains a treasure hunt that takes you all over the city and it is much more fun than one of those silly tourist buses. For each city section it provides a pub, restaurant, and activity for the kids too. The best tour I’ve ever had of London – and I lived in the city for 3 years!
We made a video of our treasure hunt and the restaurants we ate at. Hope you enjoy it…
As featured in video…
Hotel: Miller’s Residence in Notting Hill. 5 minutes from Hyde Park and 5 minutes from Portobello Road
Restaurants: Ping Pong for Dim Sum, Brown’s Hotel for high tea
Technorati Tags: Easter, high tea, London, London hotels, Ms. Glaze, travel guide, treasure hunt
that is way more awesome than some silly tour. wow. cool idea.
Watching you in the video convinced me that you are meant for a career in Television. You know the woman on the Travel Channel that goes all over the world and reports on everything….you could totally snag that job!!
Darling,
I watched your video and I found it lovely! You’re great and I think you have to work on tv!
You showed something about lOndon that I’ve never seen, although I lived there for a year and a half!

What a kick! Had a good time watching this… Looks like you guys had a fab time in London!
Brown’s is such a good choice for the tea. Better than the more famous Ritz IMO….
that was so cute! i loved it! you need to send it in to the travel channel if top chef doesn’t work out! and since it looks like its gona be too late/hard/expensive to get me to europe this summer why dont you take me around on your videos….next stop rome!
Another online Emmy for you sweetie pie! I’m glad you cut out the butterfly wings and post 10 gin and tonic scenes 🙂
Glad to see you actually had tea at high tea. Or was that just stock footage. Great video guys. Wish i could have joined you. but your rooftop garden was enjoyable too. no video footage though….he he
UR da bomb, Mz. Glaze! Totally ready for primetime!
The time out game isn’t bad, but for a real challenge you should try Ravenchase Adventures – It is adventure for the spirited intellectual. A combination of Amazing Race, Da Vinci Code and the Game.
Good vid. By the way, friends have tried Ravenchase and said they were OK in the States. I have used X Marks The Spot in London and Budapest. These guys are awesome. They’re based in London so really know their local stuff – and for the Budapest event the guy who ran our day also knew Budapest inside out both on and off-the-beaten track. Clever clues too and a brilliant format. I believe they do this sort of thing all over Europe.
Treasure hunting is great! I did the same thing last year in London. Booked my flight through lastminutetravel.com. I highly recommand it.
London is the best place to travel to! I always enjoy it when I go there, lol 🙂 I suggest you search for a hotel at LMT next time, they’re awesome and very effective.
Happy holidays!
Those review filters are a neat touch, especially if there’s a lot of reviews. Makes it easy to see what your own demographic thinks about the hotel.

Thanks for this handy post. Online reviews have really changed the way I research travel.

I randomly came on this side and would like to leave nice greetings. I would be glad if you visit my homepage also! Maybe you want to visit Sylt Westerland in Germany http://www.MeerblickSylt.de or the Baltic Sea http://www.OstseeblickHolm.de for vacation?! We have there very nice flats with a nice view.
